Overview

Solution is designed for object volume calculation based on tomography data. The software estimates brain tumor volume, but would handle different types of tumors and objects, measured not only in medicine but in such areas as geology, reverse engineering, art, biology etc. Contact author if you are not able to open your scans data.

Tumor volume estimation

Importance of the quantitative analysis of a tumor linked with decision of surgical intervention: “to be or not to be?”. Slices set of a brain is prepared using tomograph (MRI, CT). Volume of a tumor and near-brain space are required for decision making. Tumour and near-brain space do not have simple forms, thus calculation is performed by the application. You can find tumor estimated below appeared on CT scans of brain.

Head 3D-model reconstruction

The aidScans is able to render 3D-models of objects. The head model you can see below was reconstructed using set of MRI slices. The model itself, points and outlines, was obtained by the aidReady library.

The program requires Windows, .NET Framework 2.0, 1G RAM, 1GHz CPU, 256MB. If you have the framework installed or have Internet available then use this installation (3.79 MB) which downloads the framework only and only when it is required.

You should note that the application requires .NET Framework 2.0 installed. You may download and install the mentioned framework yourself, if not the installation will download and install the framework itself. Internet is required only in that case if it is not present in your system. If you are going to perform off-line installation and have no framework use installation archive with the framework included (26.1 MB). Then you should unpack the archive completely and run aidscans setup (the installation).

If you are not sure: try first installation, it should suite you in 98% of cases.
